Coronavirus (COVID-19)—information for the Queensland maritime industry

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) and Queensland’s Vessel Traffic Services have been monitoring all foreign trading ships arriving at Queensland ports due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). These reports are published at 17:00 weekly.

There are no current restrictions on recreational boating in Queensland.

Protocol for maritime crew members entering or departing Queensland

Maritime Safety Queensland with Queensland Health have developed a mandatory protocol for maritime crew members who are entering or departing Queensland. When facilitating crew changeovers, agents are required to follow the protocol and seek Regional Harbour Master endorsement using the following checklist prior to a transfer being endorsed.

The Regional Harbour Master will assess the crew changeover checklist and either endorse or work with agents to ensure protocol is met.

The following table shows the number of vessels that have entered Queensland ports and Reef Vessel Traffic Services over the reporting periods shown.
