Wallaby Road (Redland Bay) Boat Ramp – Project Update: Construction Phase

Project overview

Maritime Safety Queensland and Redland City Council (RCC) are jointly funding a new $5.9 million recreational boating facility at Wallaby Road, Redland Bay.

The new facility will provide near all-tide access to Southern Moreton Bay waters, making it easier and safer for local boaties and paddlers to get out on the water.

We are leading project delivery, ensuring high-quality marine infrastructure that meets the needs of the growing Redlands community.

Extensive planning and design work have been undertaken to ensure the layout suits local conditions and supports safe and efficient use.

Project features:

  • A 2-lane boat ramp
  • A centralised floating walkway in the middle of the 2 boat ramp lanes
  • A dedicated canoe ramp located on the far right-hand side
  • An access road and turning area
  • A car park with 44 car-trailer unit spaces, 18 single car unit spaces and 3 accessible parking spaces
  • Street lighting
  • A composting toilet facility
  • Landscaping
  • Canoe racks

  • Improve safety for boaters and paddlers

Next steps

All environmental and development approvals are complete, and the project is now progressing to the construction phase.

  • Onsite works to start: November 2025
  • Expected completion: June 2026 (weather and site conditions permitting)

A traffic management plan will be in place throughout construction to maintain safe access to the site.
