Manly State Boat Harbour is an integral part of the bayside’s social, cultural and economic landscape. To improve the experience along Trafalgar St, Norfolk Point for everyone, we are undertaking essential upgrades and maintenance to the parking facility and access road.

Project overview
The Trafalgar Street and Norfolk Point area of the Manly State Boat Harbour caters to a variety of functions and uses including:
- Facilitating access to hospitality venues, recreational boating facilities and activities as well as government and marine rescue services.
- Recreational activities including walking and cycling to access the breakwater and open space at Norfolk Point.
The upgrades will improve the safety, accessibility and connectivity along the Trafalgar Street/Norfolk Point parking facility and access road for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
We will achieve this by providing:
- new accessible pathway along the southern side of Trafalgar Street
- new accessible parking spaces
- upgrades to the existing accessible parking spaces
- new speed humps
- new signage and line marking
- bicycle parking
- raised pedestrian crossing (to implement a safe crossing point, there will be a reduction of 3 parking spaces)
- road resurfacing.
We will investigate ways to minimise the impact to the existing street trees along Trafalgar Street, retaining trees where possible. Investigations will consider specialist advice and a design option for a section of the footpath alignment to be a raised boardwalk rather than concrete footpath.
Current status
We have finalised the concept design and are currently undertaking detailed design.
