Commercial personal watercraft areas, Sunshine Coast

Image of a personal watercraft operating on the Noosa RiverMaritime Safety Queensland has established two areas for use by hire and drive personal watercraft on the Noosa and Maroochy Rivers. The speed limit in both areas is 40 knots.

Within these designated areas, all boats are prohibited from operating or anchoring from sunrise to sunset with the exception of commercially registered hire and drive personal watercraft.

In establishing these areas, Maritime Safety Queensland has considered the long history of commercial hire and drive operations on the Sunshine Coast and the significant contribution to tourism they have made.
